Designed for you when you are ready to...
Step into a sanctuary of love, renewal, and self-discovery. In the company of supportive sisters and the embrace of nature’s purity, you’ll be invited to bask in beauty, open to revelations, and listen to your inner truth.
I'm joined each year by my dear friend and ally in awakening, Tashina Wilkinson! (See photo below.) Tashina is our Earth Angel, supporting us through breaks and excursions, and providing emotional safety and ease. She's a bright light and a high bird with a contagious, happy vibe. Tashina brings her years of experience and abundant knowledge in health, beauty, and well-being to our shared space.Â
Each woman has her way of awakening ...
- immerse yourself in the nurturing presence of a compassionate community of sisters
- align with your spiritual energies to take courageous inner and outer steps in your life
- design ways of living that harmonize your creative and professional endeavors with your values
- anchor yourself in wisdom as you channel your essence through words, writing, art, and music
- soften, surrender, and drop fully into your heartÂ
- enjoy your body and senses as gateways to bliss
- bask in stillness and acclimate to equanimityÂ
This is your moment to honor your readiness—to give yourself the space to receive and to trust in the unfolding of your journey. Here, in the influence of Mt. Shasta, the unseen feels closer, the distractions of the world dissolve, and something honorable within you stirs awake. This is a space where the land holds you, every breath cleanses, and you can truly find quiet. As you enter the moment, you open to something new—a partnership with yourself, the Divine, and the life you envision.
“This was a precious, expansive weekend that has brought me in contact with sisters and opened doors to my soul that have been closed for a long time. From my deepest heart, thank you!” - Susan Thornton, past participant
Transformations in Their Own Words
Live with Intention. Awaken to Choice.Â
True empowerment begins when we bring the unseen into the light. When we meet our shadows with compassion, they no longer define us. Healing happens when we are witnessed with acceptance and care. Transformation unfolds when we allow our emotions to release.
At the AWWA Retreat, we walk this path together—shedding shame and courageously embracing wholeness.Â
“I am so glad and grateful I said yes to A Wom’s Way of Awakening Retreat. It is a life-altering experience that was done in the most divinely feminine way.” - Lesa Michel

Hi, I'm Joy!
I am a fellow student and traveler in consciousness. As a leadership mentor, I bring over twenty-five years of training, coaching, and somatic integration work to these women's retreats. As an author of Inspired: 7 Wisdoms of a Soul-Inspired Life, I am passionate about empowering people to contribute to a better world through spiritual embodiment and inspired action.
I love facilitating A Women’s Way of Awakening and The Creators Circles for visionary women, where I weave decades of experience as a licensed massage therapist, certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, ordained priestess, and certified yoga instructor. It is my honor to facilitate evolution with spiritual women, allowing you to deepen your connection to the Divine and to your beautiful strength.Â
Mt. Shasta has been my home since 1998, and I continue to revel in the region's beauty. I enjoy music, dance, yoga, hiking, swimming, outdoor adventures, and sharing life with my spiritual ally and husband, Gavin.
My dream is for all women to experience deep, honest, and uplifting love within themselves and live a life beyond their wildest dreams.
